Description
The range of tonal colour that can be produced by the clarinet made it eminently suitable for Debussy's impressionistic compositions and it featured greatly in his orchestral works. However only a few works for the solo instrument were ever composed. James Rae presents some of Debussy's most popular concert pieces in these arrangements for clarinet and piano.
Clarinettists will now have the pleasure of bringing to life, for example: the Ragtime flair of 'Le petit n̬gre', the beauty of 'La plus que lente' and the clumsiness of the little elephant in 'Jimbo's Lullaby'.
