Harris, P.: King's Parade for Clarinet
Tax included.
Kings' Parade was written for a woodwind competition in Cambridge, hence the title - one of the composers favourite spots in that wonderful city. The music reflects both the hustle and bustle of the place and the sense of grandeur that one feels walking past those imposing buildings of learning and purpose. It should be played with an animated and energetic feel for the rhythm and a broad and resonant legato in the lyrical passages.
