Description
J.S. Bach's Italian Concerto ranges among his most popular keyboard works. In Olaf Muhlenhardt's arrangement of this concerto for saxophone quartet (suitable for an advanced ensemble), the saxophones alternately assume the different roles of the soloist, a soloistic group within the orchestra (Concertino), and the full ensemble Ripieno (tutti). All of Bach's original instructions, embellishments and articulations have been adopted and carefully adjusted.
